Artist Group Since 1945

TCAA has been around since the late 1940’s when a few friends with a mutual interest in art started getting together regularly. They met at each other’s homes to paint and critique each others work. We now have the beautiful Tolland Art Center to meet at. Our goals have remained rooted in inspiring the communities around us as well as each other.

Open Studios

This is an open studio, everyone does their own thing. We can relax in the glow of a couple of hours of painting, sketching, photographing whatever. Wonderful opportunity to both beginner and advanced artists. The tea kettle will be on!

Public Exhibitions

Our group hosts public exhibitions twice a year. Check our website for the dates.

Blog

One of our members, June Mita, blogs about TCAA’s Plein Air outings: “Members and guests can paint or sketch together at various locations, usually on Tuesdays. What is Plein Air? It means “Fresh Air” and is a technique created by the impressionists, to paint or sketch live while outdoors.

From beautiful scenes to still lifes to figure drawing to abstracted arts. You’ll hear about upcoming exhibits. We’ll feel your joy in winning awards as well as that awful feeling of (unnecessary) rejection we just can’t help feeling if we don’t get an award. We’re simply a “works in progress”.
